Unleash the Power of Every Greek God — You Won’t Believe What They Can Do!
In Greek mythology, the primordial deities are the first generation of gods and goddesses. Two of these deities were Gaia, Mother Earth, and Uranus, Father Sky. They gave birth to the second generation of gods called the 12 Titans. The youngest of these Titans was Cronus, usually depicted with a sickle and considered the patron of the harvest.
Gaia and Uranus had even more children — the hundred-handed Hecatoncheires and the one-eyed Cyclopes. Uranus hated them and hid them in Tartarus, a deep abyss used as a dungeon of torment and suffering for the wicked. This angered their mother Gaia, who tried to make an alliance with the Titans to castrate Uranus. She created a great stone sickle, but only Cronus was willing to do it. Cronus ambushed his father and castrated him, throwing his testicles and the sickle into the ocean, which became Corfu, the Greek island famous for its sickle-like shape.
After dethroning Uranus, Cronus and his older sister Rhea took the throne as king and queen. Cronus’ rule was known as the Golden Age, as people had no need for laws or work. However, Gaia and Uranus prophesied that Cronus would be overthrown by one of his sons, just as he overthrew Uranus. Paranoid, Cronus devoured his first five children as soon as they were born.
